After acquiring Lancia in 1969, the Fiat Group quickly sought to revitalize the brand and assigned it this coupé to complement the Beta sedan lineup. Designed as a berlinetta with a mid-engine layout, it featured a tubular chassis that was very easy to adapt for racing purposes.
Launched in November 1975 under the Italian spelling “Montecarlo,” in tribute to Lancia’s numerous victories in the famed rally, the engine was an evolution of Fiat’s two-liter twin-cam engine, developing 118 hp.
What really caught attention was the car’s silhouette. It was an exceptionally understated design for a sports car, with a compact, angular style in line with Italian trends of the time. This strict two-seater received widespread praise for its road performance, high-speed handling, braking, and acceleration worthy of a grand tourer. Its handling was often described as remarkably efficient — a standout trait of the car.
Vehicle comes with technical inspection and Car-Pass.
